Dirk Strider, one of his year mates. What a befuddling surprise. He had been expecting a housemate, maybe, or ...basically anyone else besides the Gryffindor standing there. He didn't really understand the house distinctions, but Jake was learning enough to know that Dirk was considered almost as odd for his house, as Jake was for Slytherin.
